A partner at a leading consulting firm’s private equity practice in the United States began using IncQuery in 2019 and has never looked back. She now describes herself as a “big promoter” of IncQuery, and has encouraged and helped other teams at her organization switch from other survey platforms.
We were curious to learn about this partner’s experience, so we reached out and asked what set IncQuery apart from other survey solutions. She told us that consistent speed, responsiveness, programming support, and ease of use have helped her team build an exceptional reputation for quality results. Here's what else she told us:
The process was definitely longer. We would write it up in Word, send it over to the coders, and then we’d be iterating with tracking changes in Word for a day or two, and then it would typically take a day for coding. We’d have to go back and forth in Word every time we wanted to make changes.
I think speed is the biggest one, for sure. Being able to start surveys directly, get on the ground as soon as we have a survey need, and do a lot of that ourselves has been super helpful.
The programming support has always been very, very strong. We’ve been using IncQuery since February 2019, and I’ve always had good experiences with programming support. The people I’ve worked with have been very responsive. It’s always gone very smoothly.
I’ve done many surveys on IncQuery, and I’ve definitely found it to save time. Regarding the benefits to our team, I would say it’s faster and enables us to free up some time. If team members can get it done sooner – get the results sooner – it might free them up to do work at the end of the case.
Probably the biggest change is getting insight for our client. We’ll typically do the first readout with our client after a week and a half or so, but typically we weren’t able to bring many results to that readout. Having that early insight has been really helpful.
My team members don’t really know anything other than IncQuery. I’ve had to tell them stories about how it used to be!
I don’t think they’re necessarily aware of how we do it, but they’re definitely appreciative when we’re able to bring early results. One thing that will happen with clients is they’re eager to get the survey out the door. When we were switching over [to IncQuery], I remember being able to tell them that we were sending over a draft and we could launch hours after they got it back to us. They were happy about that.
It has definitely streamlined it. I’ve always gone into IncQuery directly, which makes things faster because I can make edits myself and review what my team has written. It speeds things up. One thing I find really helpful is the outline option.
I think it’s a process thing. Everything helps. Doing good work and getting called up – having an edge in giving good results definitely gives us an advantage. It definitely improves the quality, especially of those early outputs, which can help build good client relationships.
I think the one thing I always tell people is that there’s even more functionality to IncQuery than you realize at first. If you think something can be done, it probably can be.
